Best place to visit this Summer- Bermuda

Bathed in the balmy turquoise waters of the Sargasso Sea, the string of islands i.e. Bermuda is ringed by treacherous reefs that make it one of the world’s top diving destinations. With its pastel-colored houses and stately mansions drowning in lush greenery and fragrant frangipani and bougainvillea, their step-like white roofs poised to catch rainwater, Bermuda feels like a genteel chunk of rural England lifted into warmer climes. But it’s much more diverse than that, with British, North American, African, Portuguese and West Indian influences adding to the unique cultural melange.

Sub-Tropical Climate

Despite its latitude, longitude and it’s location so far north of the Caribbean, nearly a thousand miles north of it in fact, Bermuda is entirely frost-free, snow-free and ice-free. All because of the warm waters of the Gulf Stream that passes near Bermuda. If there is one word for describing Bermuda’s weather or the climate, then it would definitely be Sub-tropical.

While the summer months that is May to October, are quite comfortable, due to high humidity it can get unpleasantly warm at times on a sunny day. So long walks or hikes could be exhausting during such time. May and October is considered as the high tourist season in Bermuda. Water temperature remains comfortable for enjoyable swims and swimming. Winter months are from December through March. Water visibility becomes high making it a great time for scuba diving.

Beware of HURRICANES!

Hurricanes are severe subtropical or tropical storm with heavy rains and intense winds which blow in a large circular motion around a centre “eye.” Hurricane season in Bermuda officially runs for six months, from June 1 to November 30. Most hurricanes occur in August, September and October. Bermuda is usually quite well protected by its reefs but high waves on top of a storm surge can cause problems in low lying areas close to the sea.

Unfortunately, there is no monsoon or rainy season in Bermuda as it is not part of the Caribbean region. However, there are occasional showers which generally do not last for long. In some months you may see more rain fall than the other, but there is generally no fixed pattern. On an average, October is the wettest month of the year with an approximate rainfall of about 6 inches, while April is the driest month with about 3 inches rainfall.

Start Planning!

So with all the Bermuda climate and weather information that you have gathered, which period do you think is the best time to visit Bermuda?

Well I’m sure that all will not have the same answer. After all some may prefer winter over summer, and some may even like to enjoy the island in monsoon. But mostly tourists prefer the dry summer season when most attractions and activities in the island are open and have the best time to explore Bermuda. So, when are you planning to hit Bermuda!

Travel in Style in Malaysia

No matter if you find yourself in Malaysia for business or leisure, there are few places in the world filled with as many surprises, amazing landscapes, unparalleled accommodation, and much more. This is a country ripe with many thousands of years of history, amazing artwork, festivals, and all the attractions that you could think up in a month to enjoy during your stay. Therefore, you benefit from considering the many reasons that other people choose Malaysia for their next holiday or business travel plans, especially if you want to enjoy some of the best fun in the world for some of the most affordable prices.

Beaches

A beautiful beach can be hard to come by with many travellers leaving behind their rubbish and other debris and causing them to deteriorate over time. However, Malaysia is home to some of the most spectacular beaches in the world and these are the type of beaches that you see in beautiful travel magazines and commercials. The beaches of Redang, for example, are quiet, warm, and secluded so that you can enjoy some of the best relaxation and privacy while you and your family explore the small island and have fun.

History

Malaysia is home to some of the oldest culture and history in the world, some of it stretching beyond recorded history. As you explore the country, you can see the strong influences of China, India, and other Southeast Asian countries that have truly turned it into a melting pot of culture and beauty. This fusion is most apparent in Penang, where you can find a place packed with historical and cultural gems including many beautiful examples of classical churches, Buddhist and Hindu temples, and grand mosques.

Accommodation

There are few places as perfect as a 5-star hotel in Malaysia because you receive all of the luxuries found at such a hotel in the UK without even half of the cost. This is because Malaysian currency will stretch much farther than UK currency, especially once you have it converted over. For the price of staying in a much lower-quality hotel at home, you could enjoy the very lap of luxury in Malaysia and see some of the most amazing landscapes along the way.

Food

Malaysia is home to many amazing dishes with influences from all over Southeast Asia, meaning that you could taste dishes using the same recipes emperors and other ancient men and women tasted. This is one part of the world that has remained the same in many ways as it has for centuries, and there are street vendors on every corner offering amazing foods that are made fresh to order and served steaming. By the time you feel you have no more room to try another bite, a new type of food will present itself and become something that you absolutely must try.

Fortunately, you can walk to many local places and burn off the calories of the food. Malaysia is home to a generally slim population and part of this is because the food is high in nutrients and low in fat.

Furthermore, since the units are usually offered on property located very close to shopping centres, dining opportunities, and drinking establishments, it doesn’t take long to travel to the activities that you are most interested in. You can enjoy breakfast at the resort, venture off for some shopping and touring during the day, and then come back to luxury in the evenings and relax so that you can do it all again the next day.

5 Tips to Help You Choose the Right Hotel for Your Travels

When you travel, whether it’s for work or for leisure, you’ll need to choose accommodations that suit your needs. Among the most popular options for accommodations are hotels. Hotels can range from cosy and homey to luxurious and extravagant. Whatever you want, regarding your accommodations, you can find it in the right hotel, however, the most common problem travellers run into is knowing which hotel is best for booking.

One of the important things to remember when choosing a hotel is comfort. For travellers in Malaysia, Genting Highland hotel in Malaysia is a great option at all price points for all types of travel and travellers. Whatever you’re looking for, you’ll need to know how best to complete your search. To make things a little easier, here are five tips to help you choose the right hotel for you and your needs.

Do Your Research

As with most tasks, you should start with some research. You can use online resources to best access all of the hotels available in the area you’re travelling to. The best way to search is to set your location and see how close or far away locations are from where you’ll be travelling, doing activities, tending to business, and so on. This is the best and most efficient way to start narrowing down your options.

Pick a Price Range

Next, you will need to pick a price range that works for you. Affordability matters, especially if you’re on a limited budget. Whatever budget you’re on, you can find great accommodations for your needs. You should calculate what your normal budget allows for, and if you have enough time in advance, start saving as early as possible for your travels. Choosing a price range is also usually the best idea. A price range gives you more flexibility than a price point.

Consider Your Travels

You’ll want to keep in mind what you’ll be doing on your travels as well. The hotel you choose for a leisure trip may not work as well for a business trip. You should choose a hotel that best accommodates your travel needs, whatever they may be.

Make Sure Your Needs Are Accommodated

The services and accommodations a hotel offers are key. You should check with a hotel before you choose one to make sure that it suits your needs. For example, if you are on a business trip, you should make sure the hotel you choose offers all of the business accessibility you need.

Special Requests and Access

Last but not least, if you have special requirements or need disability access, you should check that the hotel you choose can fully accommodate you. This includes everything from allowing pets to having access to onsite medical attention in case of emergency. If a hotel doesn’t meet your needs, be sure to choose the one that can best accommodate you. The right hotel will be happy to accommodate your needs.

Things to Do Outside of Las Vegas

When you travel to Nevada, Las Vegas is probably the airport you fly into. It is also likely the city where you stay during your travels. It is the largest city in Nevada, and one of the most interesting cities in the world. Whether you are traveling for fun or for business, it is likely that you have something to do in Vegas. However, it is not the only place of interest in Nevada or in the surrounding area. There is much to do in Las Vegas, but there is also much to do outside of Las Vegas.

Orange Groves

Las Vegas is located in the southern tip of Nevada, which means that it is only a few hours from California, Utah, and Arizona. You can travel into California with very little trouble. As you travel through California, you can see orange groves at all different times of the year. Many people who make a Las Vegas RV rental choose to travel all throughout California as well as Nevada. When you travel into California, you will be able to see the differences that occur in the orange groves, depending on the time of year in which you are traveling.

In the summer, the orange trees begin to blossom. They blossom with fragrant white flowers; this is when the bees pollinate the trees for the coming year. If you travel to the groves during the winter, you will see the trees full of oranges that are ready to be picked.

Hiking

Nevada is notoriously flat, but that does not mean that you can’t go hiking. If you drive to a neighboring state that is not quite as flat, you can find some great places to go hiking. There are some incredible spots for hiking in California as well as Colorado. Colorado will be a farther, drive but an RV gives you the freedom to take longer drives.

You can even choose to break up the drive into many different segments. You can drive for a few hours from place to place, seeing roadside destinations and interesting things along the way. Before you know it, you’ll be hiking in the mountains of Colorado.

Camping

Some people like to go camping with their RV. The RV itself is a great way to travel, but many people want to sleep outside under the stars. The warm months of the year are great for that in Nevada. There is very little chance of rain, and even if it does rain, you can move back into your RV. There are campsites all over the state that accommodate parties of all different sizes. You will be able to control your trip completely.

An RV gives you the freedom to choose when and where you go for your entire vacation—you are in complete control. You won’t have to worry about hotel check-in times, connecting flights, or even where you are going to sleep. You can just go from campground to campground, experiencing the Southwest and enjoying yourself. It is the best way to travel, especially around Nevada. You should definitely consider renting an RV.

Our Three Favourite Bike Routes in the World

It wasn’t too long ago that riding a bike was one of the more unfashionable things you could do but with governments keen to push green living, the amount of cycling commuters is now quite frankly staggering. It could be said that this is one of the reasons why there has been a huge increase in interest in biking holidays, with couples in particular keen to hit exotic locations and see the sights with their bike.

Bearing the above in mind, we’ve now compiled a list of our three favourite bike track locations in the world. Admittedly, it’s going to be difficult for you to ditch the traditional beach holiday for one of these options, but just be aware that the hobby is turning into a global phenomenon and taking your bike on your travels is now becoming one of the more fashionable things to do.

Of course, before you read on, some preparation is required before you venture off into the wilderness on one of these tracks. Most of the suggestions will require you to have a specialist bike for you to even consider tackling the routes, whether this means getting hold of standard mens mountains bikes or one from a specific brand, such as Scott road bikes.

Barclays bikes, London

Great Ocean Road, Australia

While we don’t exactly endorse lugging your bike all the way across the world with you, if you can make it to Australia the Great Ocean Road route is arguably the most impressive in the world. It’s not exactly for the faint-hearted, with its total span being just short of 250km, although there are shorter tracks you can take if you so desire.

The beauty of the route is undoubtedly its variety and unlike many tracks which have just the one focal point, this has several. Its main selling point is its ocean views, although deeper into the route you will find yourself cycling through rural farms and wetlands. Any surfers out there could be advised to time their trip and hit Bells Beach – which is regarded as the surfing capital of the local Victoria region.

Hiawatha Trail, United States

For those looking for a shorter route, this track based between Idaho and Montana could be advised. Again, the scenery is second to none although at 24km, this is a track that can be performed in a day.

The star attraction of this route is unquestionably the rail aspect, with the track based upon a disused railroad. It ventures in and around the countryside, around the mountains and perhaps most impressively, through no fewer than ten tunnels. One of these tunnels lasts for over a tenth of the journey and this is something that often appeals to children. Therefore, if you are going with the family, the Hiawatha bike trail could be the way to go.

Great Divide, Canada to the United States

The name of this route suggests that it is quite something special, and the Great Divide is exactly that. Separating the US and Canada, this trail has been included due to its sheer difficulty. Only the most serious bikers should even consider attempting it, with the total route being almost 4,500km long. To add to this, it’s barely a flat track, and very few people will manage to stay on the bike amongst all of the steep hills.

Nevertheless, if you have tried other routes and want to be classed as a serious cyclist, this is the destination to hit. If you complete it, you will be lauded as a master of the bicycle (and an incredibly fit person at the same time)!

Tips for Enjoying the Glastonbury Festival

If you want to experience the true spirit of an English music festival, then you won’t want to miss the Glasto festival. This summer music festival is the world’s largest. The festival started as a three-day hippie fest, but the festival has continued every year, and is now a place for new bands to make it big as well as a place or old favorites to live their glory days.

Here you will find hundreds of varied acts, including Bowie, Massive Attack, The Smiths, Radiohead, Dylan, Blur, Bjork, and a whole lot more bands and singers than you’ve ever heard of.

Glastonbury Festival

The scene:

Don’t be surprised at what you find at the festival. This event takes place over 900 acres of farmland, and just like a farm, it is bound to get messy! Whether it is mud from the rain or simply trash and leftovers from the nearly 200,000 people who attend the festival, you will get dirty and lost. Aside from the multitude of musical stages, you will also find hundreds of booths selling food, trinkets, and nearly anything you can think of.

The highlights:

While there, you won’t want to miss seeing an act on the Pyramid Stage, the Jazzworld Stage, the Sacred Space, th Dance Area, the Glade, Lost Vagueness, and the Tipi Field. If you get bored or tired of the hustle and bustle, you can step out and visit the surrounding towns for a break. The Holiday Parks website can help you find a place to relax and unwind.

Dos and don’ts

While you are at the event, you should keep a few considerations in mind.

Do dress for the occasion: Although celebrity visitors may make it seem like a fashion event, it is best to dress sensibly at the festival. Like as not, it will rain. It is almost sure to be muddy. Stick to what is comfortable, and wear shoes meant for mucking about in the countryside. You won’t be sorry. You should also bring several outfit changes for when you get filthy.

Don’t miss the main act: While it is easy to get distracted by the hundreds of things to do at the festival, you don’t want to miss the main act. Pick one of the headliner bands to watch and make sure you do! You will be happy you saw one of the main points of the festival. You may also want to try to see a new band or someone you are not familiar with, just to get the full experience.
Do have fun: It is easy to get stressed over the crowds and number of events. Rather than get hung up on the details, just try to go with the flow and enjoy yourself. After all, you are there to have fun!

When you attend the Glastonbury Festival you embrace years of musical history and become a part of one of the best events England has to offer. You will always remember the memories you made at the festival, and you will probably want to come back year after year.

Trying Things in Thailand

Thailand, with its clear blue seas, white, sandy beaches and abundant, exotic marine life is by far one of my top destinations to visit. When I first decided to travel to the Land of Smiles.

Thailand

Songkran

Try to visit Thailand during Songkran, the Thai New Year! It’s absolutely insane and so much fun! From Thai locals to tourists, everyone goes out onto the streets to soak each other with water guns and buckets, only really stopping for a swig of refreshing Chang. This is bound to be any tourist’s highlight on a Thailand stop. Tip: you have to consider hotel booking now because it gets pretty crowded and most hotels, if not all, are fully booked during the festivities.

The Nightlife

Thailand is notorious for the array of mind-boggling night time activities. From the well-known Full Moon Parties to the questionable streets of Pattaya and Phuket, Thailand is truly the eastern version of Ibiza. Many a time, my traveling group and I have been invited to stay long after the bars have closed for a drink with the owners, and the locals and left as the sun is rising.

ATV Off-roading

Phuket offers one of the best ATV trails I’ve ever been on. There are a bunch of companies offering different tour packages and the tours differ in length and additional activities. The minimum tour lasts around half an hour but even the locals will suggest the three-hour tours which mean more adventure and more delicious Thai food! Most of the longer tours will include a white water rafting adventure or trip to a local village. The most exciting tour I went on involved navigating our way up and down hilly trails.

Elephant Trekking

The elephants are one of the best things about Thailand. Most of the tourist and resort destinations have something to do with these creatures on offer and the locals believe that an elephant is a symbol of luck. So one of the best things you can do in Phuket is to go on an elephant ride tour. There is always a trained tour guide on hand to help you and many of the tours will allow you to learn about rubber trees, rice farming and coconut picking. You may even get to ride on an ox and cart too. One of the best things about these tours is the opportunity to feed the elephants after the ride and have your photo taken with them.

Hiking and Trekking

Hiking the hills of Phuket is a must for adventure seekers. It’s a great way to meet locals and learn more about their culture.

Catch a Thai Boxing Match

Muay Thai is the national sport in Thailand. Lumpini Stadium is the most well-known venue for the sport in Bangkok and matches are held on Tuesday and Friday evenings and twice on Saturdays.

Dive in the Similan Islands

The waters surrounding the Similan Islands are known as one of the top ten diving sites in the world. Most visitors choose to explore the area of the Mu Koh Similan National Park as part of a lie-board drive trip which will also take you to the largest island, Koh Similan that boasts of clear waters, impressive underwater rocks and vibrant coral formations.

Rock Climbing in Krabi

Krabi offers incredible natural beauty which is mostly protected by national parks. It’s known as Asia’s centre for rock climbing owing to the hundreds of limestone outcrops and there are climbs for all levels of climbers. There are several companies that offer climbing courses and about 600 routes to choose from. Some of the more popular locations include Ton Sai Beach and Railay.

Visit A Floating Market

This is something you simply have to have on your Thai to-do list. Bangkok used to be known as the Venice of the East owing to the multitude of canals that make up a network of waterways, weaving their way through town. Here, the floating markets with their busy vendors sell things straight of their boats on the side of the canal. The markets make for a fun day of bartering and sampling delicious fares. My favourite is Khlong Lat Mayom floating market.

There really is so much to do in Thailand, from north to south. You can visit travel sites for more ideas for your next trip to the Land of Smiles.
